Groundhog Day And Unitarian Universalist Clergy Sexual Misconduct aka Clergy Sex Abuse - What's The Connection?

What better day than Ground Hog Day to observe the shadow of the tiny, declining, fringe religion known as The U*U Movement aka Unitarian Universalism and prognosticate on how much longer the Unitarian Universalist Association and The U*U Movement more generally will continue to try to hide U*U clergy sexual misconduct aka U*U clergy sex abuse hidden as much as it thinks it can get away with?

I first associated Groundhog Day with "the Deep Dark Shadow Cast By ALL Forms Of UU Clergy Misconduct" in this email that I sent to UUA President Rev. Dr. Peter "Beyond Belief" Morales on Tuesday, February 2, 2010, just over two months before I descended from Montreal to Boston to protest against U*U clergy abuse of all kinds during the April 2010 meeting of the UUA Board of Trustees. For various reasons I decided to keep my protest minimal and attend the April 2010 UUA Board of Trustees meeting instead, so that I could personally and directly share some of my concerns about serious problems with the UUA's policies and procedures for handling clergy misconduct complaints so that these U*U problems could be corrected. Almost six years later, the problems that I brought to the attention of ALL UUA Trustees and ALL UUA leaders who were present at the April 2010 UUA Board meeting have yet to be corrected.

Two year ago, on Groundhog Day 2014, I reimagined Groundhog Day as 'Revealing The Shadow Of Unitarian Universalist Clergy Misconduct Day'. It seems that this "reimagining" of Groundhog Day may be catching on with *certain* Unitarian Universalists. This morning, soon after I poked my head out of my burrow in Montreal, it came to my attention that the UUA's Church Of The Larger Fellowship's 'Daily Compass' blog post for Groundhog Day 2016 says the following. . .

Legend has it that if the groundhog sees his shadow today, that he will be scared back into his hole, leaving us with six more weeks of winter. That’s a long time to hide from yourself.

How do you respond when you see your shadow side?

So the emphasis of today's observance of 'Revealing The Shadow Of Unitarian Universalist Clergy Misconduct Day' will be on just how long the UUA, and The U*U Movement more generally, have been scared of the rather ugly shadow cast by UU clergy sexual misconduct aka U*U clergy sex abuse and have not only been hiding from this "shadow" of The U*U Movement, but have been going to immoral, unethical, borderline criminal (if not actually criminal...) lengths in doing their damnedest to ensure that U*U clergy sexual abuse aka #UUA #CSA is kept hidden as much as it remains possible to keep it hidden from not only most Unitarian Universalists, but the general public.

In June of 2014, during his first Moderator's Report to a General Assembly of the Unitarian Universalist Association, UUA Moderator Jim "See No Evil" Key aka *Certified* Risk Management Consultant James C. Key actually had the unmitigated gall to try to Deny, Ignore & Minimize U*U clergy sexual misconduct as much DIM Thinking as he thought he could get away with in what was supposed to be a second UUA "institutional apology" to victims of UU clergy sexual misconduct. Jim Key's "official apology" contains #BaldFacedLies about UU clergy sexual misconduct, but the most egregious bald faced lie that UUA Moderator Jim Key uttered in his worthless "apology" was,

"There were NO incidents of abuse of children or elders in my investigations."

Yes, you read that correctly, in his "official apology" to victims of UU clergy sexual misconduct, UUA Moderator Jim "See No Evil" Key engaged in some incredibly immoral and incompetent, to say nothing of #BatShitCrazy, UUA "Risk Management" in falsely asserting that in his own personal "investigations" into UU clergy sexual misconduct he had found NO evidence of ANY sexual abuse of children aka #ChildSexAbuse committed by "less than perfect" Unitarian Universalist ministers. Is that brazen bald faced lie even remotely believable by anyone who is not a total moron or in deep psychological denial? Is it possible that the thousands of UUA GA delegates who heard that bald faced lie when it was uttered by Jim Key in his first Moderator's Report to a UUA GA, or learned of it later, actually believed that all but completely "beyond belief' bald faced lie? Are Unitarian Universalists SO stunningly naive as to believe that it is actually possible for The U*U Movement to get through more than a half century of Unitarian Universalist history without one single "incident" of U*U clergy sexual abuse of a child?

This is a work in progress and will be updated and expanded through the day.
