Does Gini Courter *Really* Want To Be "Moderator for Life" aka "Life Moderator" Of The UUA?

Quite serendipitously Reverend Gary Kowalski, the author of 'Revolutionary Spirits: The Enlightened Faith of America's Founding Fathers', and minister of the First Unitarian Universalist Society of Burlington, Vermont, has shared his concerns about how news sources in Caracas reported on President’s Day that Hugo Chávez won a referendum allowing the socialist leader to continue running for president of Venezuela indefinitely. . . On today's 'President For Life?' post of his Revolutionary Spirits blog. Rev. Gary Kowalski says -

"Whether you love him or hate him, you have to admit that the prospect of Chávez – or anyone – as ruler for life is a scarey (sic) proposition."

I guess U*Us could just as easily say -

"Whether you love her or hate her, you have to admit that the prospect of Gini Courter – or anyone – as UUA Moderator for life is a scarey (sic) proposition."

In that, just within the last few days, an anonymous commenter has posted a comment to my 'UUA President Bill Sinkford Stands On The Side Of Love For Victims Of U*U Clergy Misconduct By Doing Absolutely Nothing. . .' blog post containing an "unsubstantiated rumor" to the effect that current UUA Moderator Gini Courter is very concerned with "gaining as much power as possible within the UUA Board and the association" and that "there are rumors that she wants to change the bylaws to be permanent moderator without term limits" I find Rev. Kowalski's sharing of his concerns to be most timely. Knowing what I know about how UUA politics work, or indeed how U*U "church" politics work more generally throughout the U*U World, it occurs to me that Rev. Gary Kowalski may even be aware of these unsubstantiated rumors about UUA Moderator Gini Courter seeking to become "UUA Moderator for Life" aka "UUA Life Moderator", or at least to be able to continue running for Moderator of the UUA indefinitely. . . and this is his way of sharing his concerns about these rumors about the alleged "dream" of Gini without directly addressing these rumors themselves.

Without further ado here are the two comments that I just submitted to the "President For Life?' post of Rev. Gary Kowalski's 'Revolutionary Spirits' blog -

First comment -

Interestingly enough an anonymous commenter recently posted an unsubstantiated rumor to the effect that UUA Moderator Gini Courter is seeking to modify UUA bylaws in order to become "permanent moderator without term limits". I personally find this rumor hard to believe, albeit not entirely impossible to believe. . . so maybe some concerned U*Us should enter into a free and responsible search for just how much, or how little, truth this rumor is founded upon.

BTW How long has Kathleen Montgomery been the Executive Vice-President of the UUA, and to what extent, if any, is she a Cheney-esque "power behind the throne" at 25 Beacon Street?

Follow-up second comment -

One more thing. . .

Regardless of what the answers to my previous comments and questions may be, it would appear that the greater U*U World is not completely free from "Unitarian Church" leaders who manage to obtain the title "Life President". . . Sometimes* I *really* do wonder about what passes for "democracy" in the U*U World.

* Make that most of the time. . .
