The Emerson Avenger aka Robin Edgar Invites UUA President Bill Sinkford And All Other UUs To Dedicate Themselves To Waging Peace With Him In 2007

In light of UUA President Rev. William G. Sinkford's Holiday Message of December 13th, 2006 the following email was just sent to UUA President William G. Sinkford aka Rev. Bill Sinkford by Robin Edgar aka The Emerson Avenger. It will be most interesting to see how President Sinkford responds to it or indeed *if* President Sinkford responds to it.

Hi Robin,
I do hope we can all wage peace together. What would it take to help you be at peace with UUs?
Have a good and peaceful 2007!

Some genuine justice instead of obvious injustice. Some genuine equity instead of obvious inequity. Some genuine compassion from U*Us instead of obvious indifference and even contempt and hatred. And just a tad of respect for my inherent worth and dignity as a person. In short the UUA and the Unitarain Church of Montreal absolutely have to acknowledge the very real injustices and abuses that I and other people have been subjected to by U*Us. The U*Us most responsible for the injustices and abuses must be subjected to some real accountability and the U*U religious community needs to present some comprehensive sincere apologies for the injustices and abuses that U*Us are clearly responsible for either perpetrating or perpetuating. Hopefully UUA President Bill Sinkford will start practising what he preaches but in light of past experience with Rev. Bill Sinkford I will definitely not be holding my breath. . . I am presernting him with yet another opportunity to genuinely engage in waging peace with me but, in that he has "missed" previous opportunities that were presented to him, I will not be surprised if he fails to practice what he preached in his Holiday Message. Let's hope for everyone's sake that President Bill Sinkford decides to walk what he talks rather than disregard and violate his own words once again. . .

There is no doubt that we need to be waging peace. I just learned about the world wide P.E.A.C.E. campaign Rick Warren and Saddleback church have initiated. We could learn a thing or two for them.

See
Saddleback PEACE page and P.E.A.C.E. Campaign Home

Happy New Year E.A.

Robin,

I'm glad to see you read my blog. I'm always glad to have readers. And it's great that you're interested in commenting.

Your blog contains hurtful statements about people and groups I care very much about, and you've said really negative things about them elsewhere. I worry that your words don't lead to peace for you. I don't want people to follow a link to these attacks from my blog. If you'd like to post on my blog, you could post anonymously. You could also moderate your tone. I'm interested in dialogue with you, but not in fueling angry fires.

Thanks again for reading my blog!

Hi Ellis,

Any hurtful statements about people and groups on my blog are almost always justified by the behaviour of those people or those groups. If I accuse a person or group of injustices, abuses and/or hypocrisy it is because they have actually said and done things to justify those accusations. In most cases when I say something hurtful about someone it is in response to something hurtful that they have said or done to me. If people or groups don't want me to say "really negative things about them" then they would be very well advised not to say or do "really negative things". . . I would not worry too much that my words don't lead to peace for me. Calling a hypocrite a hypocrite or otherwise exposing and denouncing U*U injustices and abuses is actually quite therapeutic although it would be more therapeutic for all involved if U*Us finally got around to responsibly acknowledging the U*U injustices, abuses and hypocrisy that I am exposing and denouncing and start waging peace by waging some genuine justice, equity and compassion in human relations.

:I don't want people to follow a link to these attacks from my blog. If you'd like to post on my blog, you could post anonymously.

I suggest that you review these attacks that you do not specify and ask yourself whether or not they are justified. Other U*Us attack people on their blog quite frequently and some do so with language that can be properly described as insulting and defamatory and outright abusive.

:You could also moderate your tone.

Indeed I could and indeed I will once U*Us moderate their tone just a bit. . . I have been waiting over a decade for U*Us to moderate their tone about me and indeed other unjustified victims of egregious U*U verbal attacks. If you enter into a genuinely free and genuinely responsible search for the truth and meaning behind my tone you will quickly determine that my tone is usually justified by the tone or behaviour of the people I am talking about.

:I'm interested in dialogue with you, but not in fueling angry fires.

Well as long as your own tone stays reasonable you have little or nothing to worry about. Feel free to come back and dialogue here and see how it goes. BTW The Emerson Avenger was never really intended to be a pseudonym or "handle" or become a 'persona'. The Emerson Avenger began as nothing more than the title of this blog but, ever since Cranky Cindy called The Emerson Avenger a Transcendentalist Super Hero and other people perceived The Emerson Avenger as a pseudonym it effectively became both a pseudonym and to some degree a persona.

The best way for U*Us to avoid "fueling angry fires" is to avoid saying and doing thing that justify "angry fires" because, when they do so, I usually ensure that the angry fires get lit right under their U know what. ;-) U*Us can choose between waging peace with me or waging war with me. I am hoping that UUA President Bill Sinkford will realize that the best thing that he can do for pretty much everyone concerned in this ongoing war of words is to respond positively to my lighthearted but none-the-less very serious invitation to engage in waging peace with me in 2007. The same goes for all other U*Us. Every individual U*U has the choice of either waging peace with me or allowing this war of words to continue on unabated and most likely even escalated.

:Thanks again for reading my blog!

You're welcome. I have a peek at most UU blogs from time to time. I have enjoyed reading yours.

Interestingly enough the word verification code for this comment is aplogzju which looks a lot like the word apologize. . . One of the things that U*Us are definitely going to have to do as part of the process of waging peace with me is to offer sincere and comprehensive apologies for the injustices and abuses that they are responsible for and to engage in waging some genuine restorative justice for all victims of U*U injustices and abuses. I like what Peter Bowden said above and would point out that waging peace begins at home and must be interconnected with genuinely waging justice, equity and compassion in human relations. Without justice, equity and compassion in human relations there can be and will be no peace.

I feel hurt that you place comments on my blog that do not reflect any of the content of my blog. I feel like you are using my personal sacred space to promote your own agenda.

I need you to respect my blog as a personal space intended to reflect on the issues of concern to me.

Please stop posting to my blog. Thanks.

So Robin treats everyone exactly the way Indrax treats him.

Counting Z's Journal, that's two bans in two days- from people you can't imagine are trying to protect Rev Drennan. Has it crossed your mind that someone might be trying to tell you something? If it were I, I would be wondering if the Divine were trying to tell me to re-prioritize my life, to focus on spreading my vision and letting the war with the UUA fall become a back burner, only in my idle moments thing. But hey, what do I know- I'm just an old Pagan who believes that the Divine speaks to us and through us.
Robin Edgar said…
Indeed it does Joel. . . I don't suppose that it has occurred to you that the Divine is speaking to U*Us through The Emerson Avenger. After all it would hardly be the first time that the Divine has spoken through prophets exposing and denouncing the injustices, abuses and hypocrisy of a religious community inorder to try to reform it.

It is patently false for the Anonymous poster to assert - So Robin treats everyone exactly the way Indrax treats him.

For starters there are very few U*Us who I treat in a manner that is comparable to how indrax aka James Andrix has behaved on this blog. Even in those relatively few cases where there are some similarities in the way I treat certain U*Us there are also significant differences and I believe that those significant differences outweigh the similarities. I would like to take this opportunity to remind everyone that the topic of this thread is "waging peace" and also remind people that I expect them to put their real names where there mouth is. I would normally be be somewhat lenient with anonymous posters, particularly if their comments are on topic and pertinent, but I reserve the right to relegate any and all anonymous posts to the U*U Hole. In that James Andrix aka the indrax troll has had his posting privileges here suspended for a couple of months as a result of his incessant trolling and SPAMMING I cannot be *too* lenient with anonymous posters as it is a very real possibility that they are none other than James Androx aka indrax attempting to get around the suspension of his posting privileges. It would be much better for everyone concerned if people properly identified themselves.

I'm not going to comment on your crusade against the UUA because it will just provoke another long-winded pointless rant, and you should really devote your time to more productive things, like seeking professional help for your mental illness.

However, I'm no longer amused by your spamming my blog with links to yours. Any future posts from you will be deleted.

Well there's a fine example of a U*U living up to both the letter and the spirit of UUA President Bill Sinkford's 2006 Holiday Message. . .
Robin Edgar said…
Well I don't know if Arnold is a U*U but he is definitely an assh*le as he openly proclaims in his blog profile. . .
Robin Edgar said…
I hate to have to say so but, with only a few notable exceptions, U*Us are not off to a very good start in terms of waging peace with me in 2007 and I'm not just talking about what has been said in this thread. . .
Robin Edgar said…
It would appear that my original link to UUA President Bill Sinkford's Holiday Message no longer works. It is now the better part of six months down the road from President Sinkford's obviously insincere and quite evidently hypocritical Holiday Message and he has studiously avoided making the slightest effort to begin waging peace with me, to say nothing of failing and/or refusing to begin waging peace with other victims of U*U injustices and abuses, including victims of clergy sexual misconduct perpetrated by U*U ministers. . . It would seem that UUA President William G. Sinkford is chronically unready, obstinately unwilling, and apparemtly even quite unable to even begin top practice what he so insincerely preaches.
Robin Edgar said…
Well 2007 went by and UUA President Bill Sinkford did absolutely nothing to enage in waging peace with me. Likewise, Rev. Diane Rollert and the whole congregation of the Unitarian Church of Montreal abjectly failed, and even obstinately refused to make the slightest effort to wage peace with me. Au contraire. . .
